Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be played in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, through an Internet account. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be "given out" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.
Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning enthusiasts are able to select the most beneficial ones each and every time.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that might been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the player an opportunity to increase their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
