Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be played in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using an Internet connection. The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will be "given out" on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the player has decided on which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced gamblers are able to select the most beneficial game each instance.

As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that have been won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their winnings, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to enhance playability.
