Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your home computer, using a web connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the best combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. On this account it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, minus the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Generally, the lowest winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from game to game, so that discerning players are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each instance.

After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Additionally, some versions of the game allow the player a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
