Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using an Internet connection. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the best mixture of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be handed out. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable bettors are able to select the most money-making ones each and every instance.

As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Further, a few versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
